Food Safety Module & the Future

Teaching materials for the second module of the CDQA program, food safety are in the works. The program will be team-taught by local university dairy advisors and private veterinarians. A variety of teaching materials are being completed including videos explaining the process of market cow elimination and how dairy producers can prevent chemical residues in meat and milk.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture will present a new program designed to prevent animal or product losses in the event of environmental contamination or foreign animal disease. Other issues to be covered include antibiotic resistance, injection site lesions, and school dairy tours.
